Want to know how to make your accessories last longer? Check out the list of essential charger care below
1. AVOID PIRATES
The first step to ensuring the durability of the device and charger is to use original factory equipment. If this is not possible, choose those certified by regulatory bodies, even if they are a little more expensive, as fake materials can cause overheating, slowdowns and even fires and burns.

In Brazil, USB chargers and cables must be certified by Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency). In addition to the agency's seal, it is worth noting whether the equipment has passed tests by foreign organizations, such as CE, the French acronym for Conformité Européenne (“European Conformity”).
2. PROTECT THE ENDS OF THE CABLE
The most sensitive part of the USB cable are its ends, which require extra care from the user. An efficient and cheap protection is to place one of those springs that come inside ballpoint pens on each end of the wire. This helps protect them and make them more malleable.
On the market, there are cables that already come with reinforced ends, which reduces the risk of damage and increases the useful life of the accessory. Also, avoid bending or forcing the ends of the cable.
3. COVER THE WIRE
Just like at the ends, you can give extra reinforcement to the entire length of the USB cable. This can be done with adhesive tape and even crochet thread. Also, avoid bending it, stretching it completely or exposing the accessory to rough or very hot surfaces.
4. USE A CHARGING STAND
Another common mistake is leaving the cable fully stretched while the device is plugged in, which can compromise the life of the cable and its charger. The best solution then is to use a cell phone holder (it can be a very cheap one) or leave the equipment close to the socket, preferably in ventilated environments and without exposure to the sun or heat.
5. COOL THE CABLE CORRECTLY
Have you finished charging the device? The next step is to carefully roll up the USB cable. To do this, disconnect it from the charger plug and wrap it around your hand. This is important because keeping the cable and charger connected can end up forcing the ends of the wire. Then, use Velcro or wire around the cable to keep it tight and store it properly.
6. PROTECT THE CHARGER
Finally, after separating the charger and cable, no more throwing them in a drawer or backpack! To keep your equipment protected, you can separate a small box, toiletry bag or bag, or even a glasses holder exclusively for this purpose. This way, they are protected from falls or shocks that could damage them on a daily basis.
