At the time of writing, we have not been able to find a universal solution to the iOS 15.1 mobile data issue.
Mobile data plan on iPhone does not work, is there a solution? Users have reported that the following troubleshooting options NO work:
- Force Restart – Click and release Volume Up, Volume Down followed by pressing and holding the Power button on the side until the Apple logo appears on the screen.
- Reset network settings in Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings
- Reinsert the SIM card – Use the SIM ejector tool to open the SIM tray.

How to update carrier settings
- First open settings and select General > About .
- Then scroll and check if there are any update from your operator.
- In the same way Install -o, if available.
- Finally Restart iPhone and test your cellular data connection once again. It works?
Reinstall iOS 15.1
Some users reported that they got the error Cellular Update Failed displayed on your iPhone after updating to iOS 15.1.
This pop-up informs you that “Your iPhone is notexecute or receive calls or access cellular data until updated“.

Additionally, if you open the cellular (mobile data) settings page, you may be informed that "An update is required to use cellular data on this iPhone."
Tap OK and proceed as follows (back up your iPhone first):
- First cConnect iPhone to the computer Mac or Windows using a Lightning to USB cable.
- Afterwards theopen Finder (on Mac) or iTunes (on Windows).
- If the pop-up 'Trust this computer' displayed, unlock your iOS device and tap Trust .
- In the same way select your iPhone by clicking your name in the left sidebar.
- At the Finder , click in General (in iTunes, go to Summary).
- Press the Command key and click Check for Update (in Windows, press the ctrl key and click in Check for Update ).
- The latest version of iOS will be downloaded and installed on your iPhone. Do not disconnect the smartphone computer until the process is complete.
Update to iOS 15.2 Public Beta
If your cellular data continues to not work and you receive the iO 15.1 cellular update failed error, you can also update to iOS 15.2 Beta Public 4! (Back up your iPhone before trying this!)
