In addition to the ability to enable or disable message notifications; and group chats, the app will let you choose whether or not you want to receive reaction notifications.
WABetaInfo says WhatsApp will be rolling out this feature very soon and although you can't react to messages right now; just having this option available in settings means the app is closer than ever to launching this feature.
According to the publication, users will be able to “react to a specific message once and the reactions are; limited to six emojis. Currently, the numbers available are “Like”, “Love”, “Laugh”, “Surprised”, “Sad” and “Thank you”.
As of now, it is unclear whether WhatsApp will make any emoji available as a reaction; like Facebook now does with Instagram, or will do so; more limited in the way the Twitter is also working on reactions .
Users will also be able to see all reactions to a message in two different tabs: “All” and also with the emoji; specific used, meaning users can click the picture to see everyone in a group chat who reacted to a message.
We'll let you know as soon as reactions are available to all users. What did you think of this new role? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
