How to use Night Shift on your iPhone
However, the Night Shift feature on iOS allows you to filter blue light and adjust the warmth of colors on the screen.
In fact, it automatically adjusts screen colors when the sun sets in your location, using geolocation and your phone's clock to determine this.
Therefore When it is morning, it returns your screen to its normal settings.
Step 1: You can activate Night Shift by opening Control Center and pressing Brightness control.
Step 2: Then tap the symbol that looks like a small sun.
Step 3: Alternatively, go to Settings > Display and brightness > Night shift.
Step 4: We recommend adjusting your Night Shift settings here by toggling Schedule at and entering the times for automatic on and off.
In fact ours is from 10pm to 7am. If you don't schedule a time, it automatically turns on at sunset and turns off at sunrise. You can also enable it manually until the next day.
How to use the blue light filter on your Samsung Galaxy
However, most Samsung Galaxy phones – like the new Galaxy S21 – have a blue light filter option now. The quickest way to activate it is:
Step 1: First, pull down your notification shade.
Step 2: Then Swipe down again to access your quick settings. One of them is called Blue light filter.
Step 3: Tap to activate and deactivate.
Step 4: Alternatively, look at Settings > Display > Blue Light Filter.
How to use night light on your Pixel phone
On Google's Pixel phones and some other stock Android devices running Android 8.0 Oreo and later, you may find a blue light filter option:
Step 1: Going to Settings > Display > Night Light.
Step 2: Tap Timeline to specify your own times and change the filtering level with the Intensity slider.
Step 3: You can also tap League from sunset to sunrise to automatically turn it on at night and turn it off in the morning.
How to Filter Blue Light on Other Android Phones
Different manufacturers have coined different names for their blue light filters, but most have one. You will usually find a quick setting option in your notification shade and scheduling options under Settings > Display.
LG calls Comfort ViewHTC and OnePlus call it Night modeHuawei calls Eye careMotorola calls Night displayand Xiaomi calls it Reading mode.
