The first iPhone 14 battery life tests are now here, revealing that the iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 offer excellent battery life.
The Pro Max may not surpass its predecessor and the iPhone 14 Plus is not yet available for testing. But there are ways to increase the iPhone 14's battery life, especially on the Pro models.

Additionally, Apple's new iPhones have been found to support faster charging speeds than the 20W maximum Apple advertises, especially the Pro and Pro Max.
The iPhone 14 models do not come with a charger in the box, like their predecessors. The idea here is that most people probably already have at least one charger that can recharge the device. Any charger will work, including the 5W model that has shipped with iPhones for years.

However, the iPhone 14 series supports 20W fast charging, a feature available since the iPhone 8/X series. You're good to go if you have a USB-C charger that supports at least 20W. The phone will reach 50% capacity in about 30 minutes.
This is great for replenishing the battery quickly, although iPhone battery charging speeds pale in comparison to some Android handsets.
iPhone 14 Pro Max battery charging speeds tested
Charging speeds have surpassed 100W on some Android phones. But battery health may be affected as a result.
This is why Apple isn't going beyond 20W, at least not officially. Not even on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which feature many features not available on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
However, just like the iPhone 13 Pro Max, the iPhone 14 Pro Max supports faster charging speeds than Apple advertises.
A recent discovery of Chongdiantou showed that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will reach 29W if you use the Apple charger that comes with the 12-inch MacBook.
All other chargers capable of speeds above 20W will provide an average charging rate of 25W to 27W. Virtually any USB-C charger that supports speeds of at least 30W will do so, not just Apple's original chargers.
This also means that any MacBook charger you have can recharge the iPhone 14 Pro Max at speeds greater than 20W. You'll still need the USB-C to Lightning cable that came with your iPhone to do this.
The video below ChargerLab demonstrates the faster charging speeds of the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 Pro offers similar performance, according to a different blog post Chongdiantou. But speeds average 25W for the regular Pro model.
Don't forget about battery health!
Ultimately, you're only looking at marginal speed gains here. And peak charging times won't last the entire life of the phone.
But they can come in handy during battery emergencies when you're really low on power.
Also, if you're charging your iPhone 14 Pro Max overnight with a wired or wireless charger and have Optimized Battery Charging turned on, speed doesn't matter. You have all night to recharge and the process will stop at 80%. It will resume before you wake up in the morning.
Come to think of it, slower speed rates can be better for battery health, especially if combined with optimized charging.
Finally, there are many other tips and tricks to increase battery life on your iPhone 14 and ensure you don't need a faster charger.
