How to Sing and Search Songs with Google?

Shazam may be the best app for recognizing music, but not everyone actively listens to a song they're interested in.

So the trick to use Siri on iPhone or iPad to discover music will not be available in this situation.

Many people have a song somewhere and then they get it stuck in their head even if they don't know the words.

Basically this is very common, so for these cases the Google resource will certainly be very useful.

He's unlike anything we've ever seen before.

Let's take a look at this super cool feature and learn how to sing to search for songs using the Google app on your iPhone or iPad.

To get started you will need two things to have the Google app installed on your device. This is what we will use and in addition you need to install the Google Assistant application.

however, just do the following steps:

How to search for music with Google

Before you start, you will need two things. Obviously you need to have the Google app installed on your device as that's what we'll be using; but in addition to that, you also need to install the Google Assistant app.

Once this is done, follow the steps below:

  • Firstly Launch the Google Search app on your iPhone or iPad and tap on the microphone icon located on the right side of the search bar.
  • Next Now, you will find the “Search for a song” option below the dots as indicated in the screenshot below. Tap it to proceed.
  • This will take you to the music search section of the app. What you need to do is just hum a verse or a line of the song you are looking for.
  • Once the app finds the song it will display three results as shown below

As you can see, Google has made it very easy to search for songs just by singing.

How long did this take?

Just tapping on the song will launch a Google search, and it can display the entire song lyrics so you can compare and see if it's really what you're looking for.

It's important to note that sometimes Google doesn't return any results when it has trouble identifying a sound.

We tested around 10 different songs using the application and three of them were not detected. Most of the time when the music is Popular you have a result.

When you can't find the “Search for a song” option in the Google app? This indicates that you have not installed the Google Assistant app on your iPhone or iPad.

We don't know why you need to have Google Assistant installed because most of the time we don't even need to use the app on the device.

Therefore, you can also try to start a search by saying the name of the song, after pressing the microphone button.

It is likely that Siri may also gain this feature in the future, but at the moment, Siri has the ability to discover songs playing if she hears one that she likes.

Hopefully, you were able to discover new songs without knowing the correct lyrics using the Google search app.

Now it's up to you, do you think Siri and Shazam should also implement this feature?
