Connect and disconnect your headphones
Sometimes a headphone error can cause the laptop to respond as if a headphone is plugged in even when it isn't, meaning no sound will come out of the speakers.
Try connecting your headphones and disconnecting them to see if this fixes the problem.

Check the headphone port
Sometimes your MacBook Pro speakers stop working because there is something in the headphone port. Inspect the port for dust and other tiny debris and remove it to see if that is the problem.
Restart your MacBook Pro
Restarting your laptop can fix all kinds of problems, including sound. Just click on the Apple® logo in the top left corner and select Restart.
Try a different app
Make sure an app you're using isn't the reason your speakers aren't working.
Try playing sound through another app to see if the problem is actually with a particular app or its settings.
Check your settings
Take a look at the sound settings. First, remove all external audio devices such as wireless headphones and external speakers. Then follow these steps to check and adjust your settings:
- Click the Apple menu in the top left corner, select System Preferences and select Sound .
- Click on the tab Exit and select MacBook Pro Speakers .
- If the output volume slider is low, move it to the right and test your sound again.
- If the Mute check box is checked, uncheck it and test your sound again.
Check for a software update
Software issues can cause all kinds of problems, so make sure your computer is running the latest version of macOS®. Open System Preferences and select Software Update. If an update is available, click Update now.
