You can duet using any video on TikTok, as long as the video you want to use has duets enabled.

How to duet on TikTok
Creating your own duet on TikTok is quick and simple to do. Remember that the video you want to duet with must have duets enabled; otherwise you won't be able to create a duet with him.
To duet on TikTok:
- Find a video you want to duet with.
- Tap To share icon.
- Select Duet in the bottom row of icons. You may need to scroll left to see the Duet icon.
- The video you selected will appear on the right side of the screen.
- Tap Record icon and record your video.
- Edit your TikTok video if you want to make changes. Tap check mark icon when finished.
- Touch Next.
- Edit your caption and change your post settings.
- You also have the option to allow others to duet with your newly created duet by toggling Allow duet for the About position.
- When you're happy with your settings, tap Publish.
How to choose who can duet your videos on TikTok
As mentioned above, you can only duet videos that have this feature enabled. This allows you to control which of your videos people can duet with and which they can't.
There are two ways to manage your Duet privacy settings. You can apply a general setting to all your videos, or you can change settings for individual videos.
For all videos
To change duet settings for all TikTok videos:
- Open TikTok.
- Tap your Profile icon at the bottom of the screen.
- In the upper right corner, tap the Menu icon.
- Select Settings and privacy.
- Under Account select Privacy.
- Scroll down to the Interactions section and tap Duet.
- Select who you want to be able to duet with your videos.
- All allows anyone to duet any of your videos.
- Followers who follow you back ensures that only people you are following and who are following your account can duet your videos.
- Just me prevents anyone other than you from creating a duet with your videos.
As mentioned above, before posting a video, you have the option to toggle Allow duet on or off for that specific video. You can also change Duet settings for videos you've already posted.
For individual videos
To change duet settings for individual videos on TikTok:
- Open TikTok.
- Tap Profile icon.
- Select the videos or Private Videos icon depending on where your video is saved.
- Tap the video whose settings you want to change.
- tighten More options icon.
- Select Privacy Settings at the bottom of the screen. You may need to scroll left to see this option.
- Put the Allow duet Toggle the switch to your preferred position. If it's green, people can duet your video. If it's gray, they won't. Please note that if you have set all your videos to Just me in Duet's global settings, you won't be able to change this toggle switch; it will remain off.
How to delete duet videos containing your content
If someone creates a duet using one of your videos and you're not happy with it, you can delete it, according to TikTok, but the feature isn't available everywhere. However, to do this you will also delete the original video and any other duets that make use of your video.
Saving a TikTok Video
You can download the original video before removing its video and any associated videos.
To save a video on TikTok:
- Open TikTok.
- Tap Profile icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Select videos or Private Videos.
- Select the video you want to save.
- Tap More options icon.
- Touch Save video.
- Your video will be saved on your phone.
Deleting a TikTok video
Therefore, after saving your video, you can delete all videos associated with it, including duets made by other people. This will also remove the video from your TikTok account.
To remove any duet videos that use your video:
- Firstly Open TikTok.
- Then tap Profile icon.
- So At the top of the screen, tap the Menu icon.
- Select Settings and privacy.
- Touch Privacy.
- Select Duet.
- Touch Manage associated videos.
- Select the video you want to remove.
- Tap More options icon.
- Select Delete all.
- Touch To remove Confirm.
- Your original video and any associated duets and points will be deleted.
