How to remove the iPhone screen film? You've wisely installed a screen protector – a thin sheet of plastic or glass – on your device to protect the screen from damage. But now you want to remove it.
Before you go ahead and just take it off, there is a sure way to do this without breaking the protector or, worse, breaking the screen of your cell phone or tablet.

Simple steps to remove your screen protector
It is important to disconnect the screen protector from the device as carefully as possible so as not to damage the screen or cut yourself on the glass. Here's what to do:
- Turn off your device.
- Using your fingernail – or a credit card – gently lift one corner of the protector and remove it from the screen. If one corner doesn't work, try another.
- Once one corner is lifted, slide the credit card under the screen protector and gently move it back and forth, loosening the edges and pulling it out as you go until the protector comes away completely.
- Carefully lift the protector off your device and set it aside.
Tip: If your protector is made of glass, you can wear gloves in case it breaks when you remove it.

How to remove a stuck screen protector
If this doesn't work, your screen protector may be stuck to the screen. The culprit is probably a strong adhesive that holds the protector in place. Here's what to try:
- Turn off your device.
- Place a piece of tape on the corner of the screen protector.
- Gently pull the tape up and toward you to remove the protector.
If that doesn't work, try this:
- Turn off your device.
- Set a hairdryer to the lowest setting and hold it close to your device – but no closer than 6 inches away – moving it up and down the length of the protector for 15 seconds. Make sure you don't set the dryer too high or hold it on the appliance for too long to avoid overheating.
- Try removing the screen protector by gently lifting it and prying it into the corners.
Clean your device screen
After removing the screen protector, wipe the screen gently with a microfiber cloth dampened with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol or a gentle cleaning spray made especially for electronics.
