Whether you are actually using a Windows PC or a Mac computer, transferring photos from iPhone to your computer is a very simple process.

How to Transfer Photos from an iPhone to a Mac Computer
- Take the lightning cable and connect it to your iPhone and Mac device.
- Make sure your iPhone is turned on.
- Open a new Finder window on your computer.
- In the sidebar, where it says Devices, click on your iPhone.
- Look at the top of the screen and select where it says Photos.
- Select the box Sync photos.
- Find and select the app or folder you want to sync.
- Choose whether to transfer selected albums or all albums and photos.
- Select To apply and wait a few moments for the transfer to complete.
How to use AirDrop to transfer photos
In light of this, another easy way Apple has made transferring images simpler is by using AirDrop, which allows you to transfer files wirelessly.
You will need to make sure your Bluetooth® connection is enabled to take advantage of this feature.
- First go to your iPhone settings to turn on AirDrop.
- Then tap General.
- Scroll down until you see AirDrop and select it.
- Actually choose which devices or contacts you would like to AirDrop with.
- Open the Finder on your Mac.
- click in Go in the menu and select AirDrop.
- However, a new window will open with an AirDrop icon displayed at the bottom.
- Then choose which devices you would like to use AirDrop with.
- After a few moments, the two devices should find each other.
- Open it Photos on your iPhone and select the photos you want to transfer.
- Tap the button Sharing in the lower left corner of the window.
- Once AirDrop finds your Mac, tap it.
- A window will appear asking you to accept the transfer.
- click in Acceptedand wait a few moments for them to be transferred.
How to use iCloud to transfer photos or videos to a Mac
The third way to set up photo transfer to a Mac computer is not very complicated, but it will require you to have iCloud® on both your Mac and iPhone.
- First open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap your name at the top and go to iCloud.
- Below the iCloud storage indicator is a list of apps that can use iCloud.
- Similarly, tap Photos or videos from that list.
- With that, go to iCloud® Photos to ensure it is enabled (the green bar has slid to the right).
- Now go ahead and launch the Photos app on your Mac.
- Navigate to the menu Photos at the top and click Preferences.
- Click iCloud and check the box next to iCloud Photo Library.
As long as you've set up your Apple ID for both devices, they should now automatically sync all photos between your iPhone and Mac.
Thus, they are fully synchronized – which means if you delete a photo from your iPhone, the photo will also be deleted from your Mac's iCloud storage.
Finally, to avoid this, turn off iCloud sync whenever you want to delete a picture from your phone but keep a copy on your Mac.
