The only Apple Watch Ultra that Apple makes has a 49mm titanium case. You can change the band, but otherwise every Apple Watch Ultra looks the same.
As such, concept artist Jon Juhan decided to take matters into his own hands and create a gorgeous mockup of the Apple Watch Ultra with a dark titanium finish instead of the natural look.

If Apple launched a “dark side” model, as Juhan calls his concept, it would undoubtedly be a success.
The dark titanium case with the dark metal bracelet is simultaneously elegant and sinister, giving off a very different vibe than the natural silver of the original.
Juhan amplifies the effect by displaying the watch in night mode. This may seem like a wild effect the artist created in photo editing software, but this is actually what Night Mode looks like in watchOS 9.0.
You can turn on Night Mode yourself by swiping to the Wayfinder watch face on your Apple Watch Ultra and turning the Digital Crown. To disable Night Mode, simply turn the Digital Crown in the opposite direction.
Will we ever see a dark Apple Watch Ultra?
Knowing Apple, it's only a matter of time before another Apple Watch Ultra model appears in a different color.
The marketing tactic of saving one iPhone color for half the generation appears to have been a huge success for the company. Don't be surprised if a new colorway of the Apple Watch Ultra launches in the coming months.
